Canvas- Bear in the Frost (12"x12")

Seeing animals at the zoo is usually cool to me but not nearly as awesome as seeing them in the wild. Somehow, the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Girdwood made it feel a lot closer to a genuine wildlife sighting. The animals are still behind barriers but their enclosures are much larger than a typical zoo. They say they are a place for previously injured animals or ones that can't be released back into the wild. All are native to Alaska and the fact that it was snowing made it seem even more authentic while the animals were still more active than most I see in captivity. This bear cooperated perfectly for some photos.
