One of my favorite things about traveling is unexpected detours and pit stops. On our road trip to Cedar Point last year, we drove through West Virginia and decided to see the famous New River Gorge Bridge which is depicted on the state quarter.
The Bridge and the canyon it spans are both awesome to see due mostly to their unusual size. Worth the detour.
