Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do we secure our wedding date with you?A fully executed signed contract along with a 30% deposit is required to secure your wedding date.
-
What if we cancel or change our wedding date after we signed the contract? If your wedding date is canceled or the date has been changed, your deposit will be kept in full. Once your contract and deposit are received I secure that date for you and turn down any other bookings on that date. The deposit guarantees that I hold your date exclusively for you. If the date changes and if I am available, I’ll change the date with an updated contract and will be happy to accommodate you.
-
Do you travel? If so, how far? What are the costs?Yes! I LOVE traveling to weddings and have no geographic restrictions. If I can drive, fly or sail there, I will be there! Travel fees will be quoted and applied when the location is more than 70 miles away from my central location.
-
Do you work weddings alone? It depends on the size of the wedding and the investment package selected. I can work with you to custom create your wedding package and meet all your needs.
-
How many photos do we receive? It always varies, but usually about 100 images per hour.
-
Do you release the unedited images? No. I do not release unedited images or RAW files.
-
Do you edit/ retouch the images?Yes! I do my own post processing and edit all images. I include black & white and sepia edits as well.
-
How many black & white images do we get?It is up to you. If you wish, all the images can be prepared in sepia or black & white.
-
What kind of equipment do you use?I take all photographs digitally and I use all professional Canon equipment.
-
Do you help plan out a wedding day photo-schedule?Yes! As your wedding day approaches, we will discuss the timeline of your day to optimize the lighting. Ceremony time and the time of year you’re getting married, can greatly affect the lighting in your photos! As best as possible, I want you to take full advantage of the natural light in your photographs, not allowing for adequate time and/or adequate lighting will greatly diminish the outcome of your photographs.
-
Do you take formal family portraits?Yes. I request a full list of family groupings at least two weeks before the wedding day or you must inform those family members so they are aware on your wedding day. This way, we don’t forget anyone. You will also need to assign someone to call out names and gather the family members since we do not know who they are. Family portraits are usually done in nice natural light either before the ceremony or after the ceremony depending on lighting.
-
Can guests/other people take pictures while you’re taking pictures?Because flashes from other cameras and big crowds during important moments (cutting of the cake, first dance, etc.,) can interfere with the quality of my images, it is preferable that the guests do not take pictures at the same time with me. I kindly ask you to warn your guests about it.
-
What is your overtime rate?I charge $180-200 for any hour over what the contract is signed for. This is of course always discussed and confirmed with you before doing so.
-
Do you have business insurance?Yes!
-
Do you require a meal? With gratitude, yes please, ! I prefer to eat at the same time as you and your guest so I am able to continue your coverage as your night proceeds.
-
Do you have an assistant photographer?Yes! I have a talented second photographer when needed/requested.

We aren’t sure if we want an engagement session or not, do you think we should? All of my wedding collections include a complimentary engagement session and I think you should definitely do one. I believe it’s a great idea for multiple reasons. First of all, during the engagement session you will become comfortable with being in front of my camera and I will get to learn your style and the best way to photograph you. So, it will be like our “dry run” before the wedding. Secondly, we will get to know each other, connect, laugh, and share stories. Finally, it’s a lot of fun and creates great memories for you!
